GA WILL WRESTLE IN STATE DUALS WITH EYE ON TITLE

By Kevin Price For GCS Athletics The Glynn Academy wrestling team will compete for the Class AAAAAA state duals title this weekend. The Red Terrors will be in Cumming on Friday and Saturday for the Georgia High School Association State Duals Championships in the state’s second-largest classification. The Class AAAAAA is being hosted this year by North Forsyth. The Terrors qualified for state duals last weekend with their second-place finish in the Area 2 tournament. South Effingham won the area crown as the tournament host and will also compete this weekend. Glynn finished fourth in the state duals last year while South Effingham claimed the state championship. The way the brackets are structured, the Terrors and Mustangs would not meet until the state final on Saturday if both teams remained in the winner’s bracket. Glynn will face off against Woodward Academy in an opening-round match on Friday. A victory would send the Terrors into the quarterfinals to face the winner of the match between Alexander and Marist. That match also would be held on Friday. You can follow the live scoring of the state duals tournaments at www.trackwrestling.com. Also, you can watch a live stream of the state matches at www.nfhsnetwork.com or FloSports.tv. For more information on the state duals across the state, visit www.ghsa.net.
