Last year/All-time: GA won 22-12 last season in Brunswick; GA leads the overall series 10-2-1 Game Preview: The Red Terrors and Buccaneers both won their season openers in shutout-fashion last week. Glynn blanked Statesboro at home while McIntosh posted a shutout on the road over Johnson in Savannah. The Terrors defeated MCA 22-12 last year at Glynn County Stadium. The last time they played in Darien, the Terrors ended in a 14-14 tie with the Bucs. Prior to that tie in 2021, Glynn had won five in a row in the series against McIntosh. MCA beat GA back-to-back in the 2008 and 2009 seasons before Glynn won four straight from 2010-13. The schools went several years without playing before renewing their series in 2020 when the Terrors won big, 33-7. Last week, the Terrors picked off four passes while recording the shutout. The only touchdown scored by Statesboro was called back by a penalty in the fourth quarter. Glynn scored an offensive touchdown before also getting an interception return for a touchdown by Ryan Young and a punt return for a touchdown by Jayden Ellis. The Terrrors were without the services of their top two running backs, Greg Peacock and Willie Butler, last week. Both missed the opener with injuries and are doubtful to play this week. MCA began the season ranked No. 8 in the Class A Division II poll by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and moved up to No. 7 this week. The Bucs rushed for 268 yards last week against Johnson. Freshman running back Earnest McIntosh - yes, that’s his last name - ran for 114 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. The MCA defense recorded six tackles for loss and a sack last week.
