TERRORS GOING TO AUGUSTA TO TAKE ON EVANS

Kickoff A look at Glynn Academy’s next game: Opponent: Evans When: 7:30 p.m. Friday Where: Knights Stadium, Evans Records: GA 3-3; 2-2 Region 1-AAAAA; EH, 1-4, 1-2 Region 1-AAAAAA Last week: GA lost 41-37 to Brunswick High. Evans lost 14-10 to South Effingham at home. Last year/All-time: GA won 28-24 at Glynn County Stadium. GA leads all-time series 5-1. Game Preview This will be Glynn Academy’s second trip to Augusta this season. The Red Terrors were just up there two weeks ago to take on Lakeside-Evans and Glynn won going away, 54-28. Evans also defeated Lakeside-Evans 27-12 on Sept. 5. That is the only victory to date for the Knights who are struggling in the 2025 season with a young team. They are 1-4 overall and 1-2 in Region 1-AAAAA. Brunswick pounded the Knights 65-0 a few weeks back. The winning margin was the largest-ever by the Pirates. Glynn will be looking to bounce back from last week’s tough loss to the Pirates in the City Championship Game when the Terrors saw a 37-21 lead disappear as Brunswick rallied for a 41-37 win in the final seven minutes. This is the first season for the Knights under head coach Lee Hutto. He is a former assistant coach and defensive coordinator at Glynn. He came here when Rob Ridings took over the GA program back in 2004. Hutto was previously the head coach at Westside Augusta before accepting the Evans job this past spring. The Knights have scored 10 or fewer points in all four of their losses. They fell to South Effingham at home last week, 14-10. Glynn is averaging just over 32 points a game. This is the second of three games in Augusta for Glynn this season. They also will go to Greenbrier on Oct. 31 for the final game of the regular season. --- Compiled by Kevin Price for GCS Athletics
