Game Preview
Glynn Academy will go for a second win in a row Friday night when it makes the trip to the Augusta area for a region meeting with Lakeside-Evans.
The Red Terrors have won both of their home games in 2025, knocking off Wayne County in the season opener and Statesboro last week, but GA has not won yet on the road this season. Glynn lost at Richmond Hill in Week 2 and then lost at Bradwell Institute the following week in the region opener for both teams despite never trailing until the very end.
This Lakeside team Glynn will encounter up in Evans is in rebuilding mode this fall after graduating a large senior class a year ago that led the Panthers to a playoff berth last season as the No. 2 seed out of Region 1-AAAAA.
The 2024 team lost only to Brunswick High in the regular season and would finish 10-2 after falling to Houston County in the second round of the state playoffs.
The Panthers also lost their head coach after the season to another program.
This year, Lakeside is off to an 0-4 start which includes losses to Evans (27-12) and South Effingham (20-14) in its first two region games.
Last week against Statesboro, Glynn rushed for 300 yards with sophomore quarterback Max Noonan leading the ground attack with 108 yards on seven carries. Noonan scored touchdowns on runs of 32 and 9 yards.
Glynn also got a 26-yard TD run by Sean Wallace and a 24-yard scoring run by T.Y. Chisolm.
Statesboro’s only score came on its opening possession of the second half.
